One morning, I received the sweetest email from this thoughtful man. James was planning a surprise proposal for his girlfriend, Taylor, and wanted my help. He had it all figured out! Taylor's only wish was that she wanted to be surprised, and James took this to heart. Starting way back in October, he had her ring made and had been secretly hiding it around their house for the last few months, waiting for just the right moment.

With the help of some friends, James organized a plot to convince Taylor that they had won a couple's photoshoot giveaway. In fact, he convinced her so well she spent the latter half of the Super Bowl trying to talk HIM into doing the shoot! She fell right into his trap!

So, on what started out as a very grey family day, Monday, the three of us set off to Elroa Gorge to take some photos. Taylor had an amazing time talking and laughing while James and I were sweating, jumpy and nervously laughing along.

James and I had agreed that we would start out like any normal photoshoot, but once we found the perfect spot, I'd give him the signal to go for it. It couldn't have been more perfect! We found this little outcrop that looked out into the Elroa Gorge. We slipped and slid our way down an iced-over ramp to the bottom, enjoying the beautiful view. That's when the magic happened! I placed James and Taylor back to back, and when everything was just right, James went down on one knee. Taylor turned around, and there he was. In this case, I think a picture is worth a thousand words!

After celebrating and screaming, "I'm GETTING ENGAGED!!!!!!" into the Elora Gorge, we made our way back up to the top of the lookout to applause and well-wishes from some people waiting to go down to the lookout. We spent the rest of the shoot laughing and enjoying ourselves as the sun slowly began to show itself. James and Taylor were such a fun couple to be around, and with the pressure now off, we all had a blast celebrating and snapping these happy photos. It was so incredible to be a part of something so special and memorable. It is such an honour to be the one to capture these living moments in a way that James and Taylor can hold onto forever.
